In-House Workshops
My substantial consulting and facilitation experience, of more than 30 years, enables me to work with you to design specific, targeted development programs to build in-house skills in several areas -
Facilitation and Group Dynamics
Various roles in organisations, such as HR and organisational development managers and advisers, often require a capability to work live with groups. I can provide action learning-based programs for learning group skills to gain maximum flexibility working 'in the moment' as a facilitator.
Consulting Skills
Increasingly, people in companies are expected to build strong relationships and consult with their clients, to build collaborative practice and shared solutions. Internal units are seen as internal service providers, in areas such as finance, HR, safety, quality and process improvement. In other areas, externally-focussed staff are all expected to apply themselves to collaborative problem-solving and strengthening ongoing business connections. I can design programs to build this capability using, or even building, consulting approaches and methodologies.
Presentations
Many managers are unprepared for the role of presenter - in-house or to clients and steering groups. I design programs which are usually spaced out over time, to allow plenty of opportunity for practice, reflection, observation and re-planning. There are three components - core skills, including content preparation and sequencing, voice, movement, spatial management, connecting and tracking; self-management, such as managing internal states and posture; and story, in order to maximise connectivity, recall, and impact.
Storytelling for Leadership
Storytelling is a critical leadership art. These programs include learning how to collect, craft and tell compelling stories. The focus for practice can be tailored to a range of applications, including installing thinking and behaviour, building relationships and teams, developing company culture, building a shared identity and purpose, or coaching and mentoring.
